Question:we get alot of huge ones in our yard, especially when it rains..are they poisonous or dangerous to pets?
Answers:
Bullfrogs are NOT poisonous! They do NOT have paratoid glands like toads(paratoid glands produce toxins). However, all amphibians produce secretions to keep their skin moist- these secretions can irrate your eyes and/or skin if you don't wash your hands after touching them. The kind of frog legs people eat are from bullfrogs, so obviously, they can't hurt you.
Nope, not at all.
if the pets eat it
then they will have a bad stomach ach or in
worst case die...
Nope they aren't. But if you have a pond with fish and turtles in it they will eat them...
they can give off some nasty toxic secretions from their poison glands (called paratoid glands located behind the ear) that can poison potential predators.
no. they dont have fangs to inject venom. but they do have teeth. no frog is venomous, in which they can inject a venomous bite. but some frogs they poison arrow frogs or dart frogs are poisonouus, in which if they are consumed they can be lethal.
Bull frogs have no poison, nor do they have poison glands.
They are frequently eaten by humans, and are the source of "frog legs".
