Anoles????

Question:if your not really supposed to pick them up ( they are super fast anyway to) how are you supposed to clean the cage? w/o having them run out.

Answers:
You are not suppose to handle them all the time, it is ok to pick them up for purposes like that. Find a cardboard box and either pick them up and put them in or coax them into it with your hand. They are fast little critters if they escape. Handling does cause stress so just in small doses.
Good luck

I dont know whats that but if they are in cage it souds like a bird.
Im not sure if they're like geckos and can crawl on the glass, i dont think they can.. but i would take a big container or an empty soda cup youd get from a fast food place... and scoop the substrate they are underneath ( so you dont scoop them and hurt them) and if they are to fast, eventually they will run towards the glass and you can scoop the substrate at the bottom and have the cup at the glass and sorta pin them against the glass ( BUT NOT THEM ONLY SCOOP THE LIZARD AGAINST THE GLASS OR YOU WILL HURT THEM!)and they will probably realise they are stuck and kinda run in the cup and then transfer them in a bigger container or justleave them in there untill youre done as long as they cant come out. Another thing you can do is put your hand in front of them and put the cup in the back and gentle scoop em up in the cup.

I hope you get to clean the cage soon ( i wouldnt walk in my own you know what).
well yea anoles are fast but you still need to clean there cage. you can pick them up but it is hard to . once (no kidding ) i spent 6 hours trying to get 1 out and when i did the other one was still in the cage so i had to carefully clean around her also what is good is when anloes are scared they (duh) run away but when they found a place to hide and if you don't touch them they wont want to move.
but now what i do it well i got this teranium topper from a petsupermarket ( they are the only one to have it ) and what it is is a 10 gallon screen mesh lid which extends the cage and had a door on the top also it hokes onto the rim of the 10 gal tank with a ~4-6 mm. gap and i spray the anoles to go up into it ( they are almost always in it anyway)
and than i slide a cardboard sheet under the gap ( i un hooked it first)
and ( i pre-cut the cardboard the 2 in. longer and wider then the lid )
than just put that on the floor and clean the cage
when the time comes for me to put them back in i just take the lid (with cardbored still inder it )
and than place it on the cage
slide the card bored out
hook it back in and ta da ! clean cage without escapes!
do it at night they are much easier to catch. use rubber gloves to keep your oils off their skin which can make them sick. If you catch them at night they are quiet and dont think quickly when you grab them...
Who said you're not supposed to pick them up? I pick them up all the time and make a fuss over them and then let them go. Why do you have an anole in a cage? What you could do is build a tiny holding cage (3" x 5") out of hardware cloth and put some grass in it and shoo him into that cage, close the door and take him out while you clean his big cage. Otherwise, you can be about 100% guaranteed he'll run away. I've never heard of keeping an anole in a cage though, I have about 500 of them and they run free all over the lanai, garden and some in the house.
I put my arm right up under his nose and touch his tail he jumps on my arm and then i take him quickly to a scree n in the window make sure he can get out and then i clean cage
