Are greek tortoises happier alone or in pairs?

Question:im buying a greek tortoise hatchling and im wondering if is should get two instead of one. Would it be lonely alone? Does it prefer to have a friend?

Answers:
Almost all reptiles prefer to be kept alone. By keeping in pairs they can be stressed out by the other one.there is competion for hides, food, water, etc. If they are 2 males, they will fight. If they are a male and female, the female will be constantly hounded for "you know what" by the male. ha ha..

2 females would be best scenario...but they still prefer to live alone!

Do you like being left alone? Depends on the tortoise and its personality..
