Any advice on building a tank cover for an odd sized reptile tank?

Question:I just picked up a really nice tank off of Craigslist that I am going to use to house one of my snakes. The problem is that it is an 80 gallon tank (60" X 16") and I can't find a lid to fit it. So, I guess that I am left with building one. I have not done this before. Any advice?

Answers:
If you have a hammer, a pair of scissors, and some good wood to metal adhesive you are set. all you need to do is get 2 60 inch length pieces of wood and 2 16 inch length, about an inch in height, and 1/8 inch thickness. You also need a roll of screen which they sell at most places that you can buy wood. Nail the pieces of wood together so that they make a frame that looks like the top of the tank. Then cut the screen to fit over the frame so that you have about a 1/2 inch of overlap on all 4 sides. glue the overlap part of the screen to the wood frame, and let it dry for 24 hours.

I would staple the screen to the wood frame not glue it .
