Question:Does anyones bearded dragon actually drink from a water bowl? Mine will only drink from it if I drip water into it so it makes ripples in the water. Other than that, I spray him with water and he licks that off his head.
Answers:
I think that most of them don't know how or don't like to because they wouldn't often come across standing water in their natural habitat. One of my girls will drink from a bowl, but I can't leave a bowl in there because I use sand as my substrate and they fill the bowl up within minutes. Both of them like to lick spray off their noses or the sides of the tank, though.
Mine does...depends on the dragon
Every Bearded Dragon we sell drinks from and plays in a bowl of water. We sell ones that are up to 8". They are not fond of sitting in the water as they get bigger, however. It is important to mist them occasionally, especially when you notice they are beginning to shed.
The occasional Beardie will drink from a bowl, but the vast majority of them will not. Keeping a bowl of water in the enclosure may raise the humidity to higher than appropriate levels anyway.
They get most of the moisture they need from the foods they eat, but misting and bathing regularly ensures that they are getting all the water they need. Mine ALWAYS drink their bath water. : )
Mine do but I give them a very shallow dish, like the bottom saucer from a ceramic plant pot.
If you give them enough veggies they will get a lot of water (ie romaine lettuce).
