Question:I'm not sure what kind of frog it is. So something for common frogs would be good.
Answers:
Please let them be free. Don't steal from the wild, humans have hurt it enough as it is. If you want a toad, buy one that has been bred specifically for a pet. They are much easier to care for, and won;t be sick or contain any parasites.
flies,mosquitoes ants maybe
I don't suggest that you keep these frogs as pets, as they are wild frogs.
If you are adamant about keeping them, however, go to your local pet store and ask what they suggest, or see what they have by way of frog food.
flies and pond insects
Usually frogs eat insects but, freeze dried or fresh blood worms work as well. You can buy them from your local pet store more than likely.
flies, crickets, and other small bugs.
I found a toad once in my yard and I had a kiddy pool that had cracked so the kids could not use it anymore.I put dirt and water in it and the toad made a hole for its house.it lived there for quite a while and then the crack in the pool got bigger and it left..a year later I mentioned it to my neighbor that the toad had gone missing and she told me that the her neighbor behind her had a pond and that a toad showed up there and laid a bunch of eggs.
dead flies, ants! 4 sure:D yuck
let them be free
they eat things with an exoskeleton and some plants.
Most frogs love pill bugs.
frogs are meant to be wild, you shouldnt keep them as pets.
I think there are pellets that they sel at the pet store although it would be better if you leave them alone in their natural habitat and just admire them from a distance.
boil lettuce untill they are older...for science that is wht we fed ours for a prodject b.c that is what the petstore said todo
Sorry Princess, if you try to catch and keep them, you'll kill them. They live to be wild--and feed on exotic insects....set them free so you can listen to them every night .by the way, did you know if you count the number of times a frog croaks in a row it is equivalent to the temperature at that time of night?
My brother had a frog and his ate these kind of things called blood worms. I'm not really sure about yous though. Diffrent forgs eat diffrent things. I would suggest that you bring one to a pet shop and show them and im sure they would have the perfect solution.
Good Luck [!]
a long long time ago i had a pet frog i gave it crickets they sell them at the pet store my frog liked it so i think thats the perfect frog food
Any standing bucket of water is a breeding ground for frogs and mosquito larvae. The froglets eat the larvae so no food is necessary however, a few nuggets of dry cat food is ok( you will have to collect rain water or let tap water sit for a few days to dechlorinate it. No water drops.).
I don't recommend keeping them as pets because of salmonella and other bacteria.
I know this is depressing to hear, but I would not keep them if I were you, most likely they would die from the stress of an environment that is not their natural habitat, and if they did survive their lives would be spend in constant stress and fear...doesnt sound like fun does it? If they are babies than they most likely have a mother out there somewhere that takes care of them, and she should be able to continue to do so.
If you take them to a pet store, the sales associate will most likely look at you flustered and then pretend to know what he/she is talking about, causing further harm. These frogs are wild meaning that they are NOT pets and cannot live on a PET frog's diet.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear.but.it's the best thing for the frogs.
Crickets, this time of year you can buy them at walmart in the hunting/fishing section.. in the winter months they are a bit harder to find, you would have to find a pet store locally that sells them. I would only catch and keep them if you have a place that can supply you food year round. (because it's almost impossible to catch insects in the winter months). And just a bit of info from an insider, all of the animals that you buy at pet stores, including petco. are wild caught, even though they claim to be captive breed, they are most likely wild caught.
flys and crickets, crickets you can get from a pet store
pizza and beer 4 one thing
