Remortgage company for someone next to unpromising credit?

Does any know of or recommand of company that works with people that hold a low credit score? Our credit scores are both around 550. My husband is recovering from cancer. This have really set us back financially. Our current mortgage is an arm and has begin to rise. We live in PA and none of the local companies will even talk to us. THANK YOU
