Besides the healthy diet and guinea pig needs exercise. Make sure you have things for him or her to climb and room for him/her to run.
Umm. try feeding not so much its just like people u eat too much yah die so i would take my advice.
You can improvise your own guinea pig exercise equipment. Since they don't jump, you can use dryer tubing or heater ducting (depending on how fat your piggie is) to connect different storage containers (think Rubbermaid storage totes, not Ziploc food storage.)
Put fun snips of fresh veggies in each tote, and your pig can move from one to the other looking for a healthy snack.
The bonus of this is that you can disconnect the totes and tubes and restack them, and they'll fit back into a closet.
You can also use a deeper plastic wading pool to let him out and about and make cardboard obstacles/ramps/hidey holes.
Don't feed him only pellets, they're concentrated calories.
Feed alfalfa hay, timothy hay, good nutrition, higher fiber, less calories. Make sure, though, that he is getting some guinea pig pellets, because they do need the vitamin supplementation that is in the pellets.
most of the guinea pigs are fat... you can do several things... you can be more careful at how much he eats... when he eats... and what he eats... and he-ll be better... if you're still worried you can go to the vet... you should look in a book about these animals... hope i could help.. :P
My friend has a guinea pig and his is fat.. Just don't let it in any small tubes like gerbils have..
tell me you have only got 1,if u got 2 it prob preg but if it a boy they are generally fat.
