Question:I saw an aspac comercial and I cried. I don't beleive that people using animals for their own benifeit is right. Like they will shoot a horse in the head just because it isn't the fastest horse and no one bought it in a week. Or that some people use dogs just to protect lots! I want to help but I'm not sure how...

It is a sad think that this happens. Contact your local animal shelter. Let them know that you want to help either with money, time or fostering an animal until they can find it a home. Many times if they can just place the dog in a home for a month or two they will be able to find it a good home. The problem is due to lack of space and funds.
To truly help you need to get on the front line. Thank you for wanting to make a difference.
Um, that is why it's called 'animal cruelty'. You can help by donating time or money to the SPCA / Humane Society or lobbying your state Congresspeople for better animal welfare laws.
Its not right, but there aren't many laws for the rights of animals...there are groups though, that help.call your local humane society and ask them...

the horse thing is WAY over the edge. but the dog thing, who cares? in smaller towns, people don't want to pay for alarm systems, and dogs are the next best thing. they use dogs for a service, just like blind people!
i feel the same way too. Im not sure how to help, but i think it would do sumthin if you donated an amount of money to any anti-animal cruelty organisations.
Help the ASPCA at your local office or whatever. Volunteer and such. Also, someone mentionmed joining PETA, bad idea. They have on numerous occasions dumped half alive dogs and cats by the hundreds in dumpsters and left them there to die. Knowing it. They are one of the worst animal cruelty offendors in the world.
well the horses that are not the fastest have usually been worked to try to make them fast and they often have joint problems and die within a few years, so don't feel too bad about that.
And the dog thing is just downright cruel.
to help the horses you can go to your local race track and talk to some of the owners and if you hear of them getting rid of one then offer to take it off their hands if they can't sell it, you could give it to an equine therapy center or you could sell it to old ladies who need to keep the snakes out of their yard and their grass low.
WE have a property dog o our farm she is aloud o range and we feed her- usally the horses that are shot are lame or aobut 2 die from natural causes!
