Question:Hiya, a couple of days agomy auntie gave me her hamster. When she brought her she was as friendly as anything and loved being handled, then she got a rat and found it more interresting and ignored the baby hamster. She gave me her because she turned viscous and untouchable. I have tried to tame her but she just makes this wierd noise, yesturday i held her for a few moments and she was great but today she wont come near me or anything and does that hissing sound a lot, does any one know how i can tame her so that she is holdable like she used to be?? O and she bites a lot as well.

My friend has a guinea pig that bites and does nothing else, in the case of her guinea pig it is the personality. In your case it could be either the personality or it could be that the hamster has encountered something when with your aunty and is now scared of humans. It will take a while to gain the trust of her, you will need to hold her in a towel every day, have a food treat available. Also do not pick her up every time you go to see her. Good Luck!!

Just hold it any way and give it treats every day and itll slowly get easier..
