Question:im choosing my pet and i can choose between the two. both will be inside caged animals. ive had a rabbit before, but it was an outside pet. Rabbits are messy [although i know that you can litter train] and have a musky smell. They are not as playful as rats and cant be trained [no im not looking to train for a contest but i know that you can teach a rat many useful things]. Rats are no as messy and very clean.

but rabbits have tons and tons of babies if you let them go outside.. so i would say rabbit if he staying inside

RABBIT!! they are so social and they dont smell if you take care of them the right way. rabbits ARE playful and very social and sweet. i love rabbits!
*actually* you know when show dogs do agility and jump over the jumps and stuff? rabbits can be trained to do that very well! youtube it and there are many cute videos of rabbits jumping over stuff in a big line, its so cute! like they have springs lol...
i personally would rather have a rabbit rather than a rat. i feel like i could let the rabbit out and about and he could run around and go back in his cage to use the bathroom (i currently own a rabbit) and its much easier. frequent litter changes help prevent the musky smell. also, i give my bunny a bath once a week to help him with his frequent shedding since he is long-haired.
i used to own a rat, and even though he was adorable, i just dont feel like me and him clicked as much as me and the bunny.
also, i didnt have to worry about other people getting icked out. my grandmother hated the rat lol...
I have a rat-he's awesome:) Rats don't poop as much as rabbits do. I've had rabbits before too. Rabbits can run into GI problems. Rats are much easier to take care of and they're more cuddly:) Oh yeah, rats do have a scent too.
A rabbit would be a very good pet because they are clean, loving and very smart u can also train them to use the litter box (if your aloud to keep it in your room/House). Some rabbits can be VERY playful it depends how ur rabbits attiude is also if your looking to get a per i susjest u addopt a pet on Pet Finder.com Because there are a lot of homeless animals that NEED a HOME also if u want a RAT u could also adopt one on Pet Finder.com. Rats are ALSO NICE Pets but I never had one I read A LOT about them because SOON I might GET ONE. But, I have 5 Rabbits and I been working with them since i was 2 when i first got my rabbit and LOVED HER. Rabbits can also sit in ur lap and love u. RATS are good pets but its kinnda hard to pick what anaiml u should get because it depends what u want like do u like a pet thats calm loving relaxed so If i were u i would get a rabbit but its kinnda hard because they are both VERY GOOD PETS!
i thinkyou should get a rabbit. you can let them run around the house and they wont get in to things.
healthstatus-wise, rats are cleaner than rabbits.
also, since you're going to be housing your future pet indoors, a rat cage take up less space than a rabbit cage.

well I had both for pets. Rabbits live a little longer than a rat. I felt that my rat was more responsive to me, my rabbit chewed on the cords around the house if i let her loose. She didnt potty train very well. She smelled more than my rat. My rat was way more smarter too.It just depends on how much room and how much time you want to spend on your pet.

i used to have a rat, but my father got rid of her, but then i got another one, and my father killed it on "accident"...so umm, and i used to have a rabbit, but he ran away because of my father, lol. and rats are cleaner, yeah, and i think they are better than bunnies, so yeah...whatever. rats are good i guess, and they are really playful. lol. so umm, i hope that helps or whatever.
well i would say get a rat. i have been breeding rabbits for about 6 years and they seem to be more work then a rat. and also if you get a rabbit you have the potability of getting a moody doe who can get very mean at times.
