I wouldnt becuase that cat is a little creepy looking. I have heard not so good things about adopting pets there. I would go to a shelter because they are better at giving away healthy pets

He's a cutie! If it were me, I'd call the number asap and not wait 'til Saturday. I'm sure there may be others that are interested in him.
Petsmarts are all rescues. They will even take down forsale signs from breeders on their bullitin board.

Go for it have fun!!
go for it, they deal with rescue places all the time, and they may even have the spay/neuter and shots included in the donation.
We got ours from Petsmart. The adoption was sponsored by a rescue non-profit.
What does it matter if you get it from petsmart or anywhere else? The kitten is cute and you will be saving his life! He will love you for the rest of his life! You must learn if he has had his shots, de-worming etc., but even if he hasn't, it doesn't matter, it will only take a vet visit to do all the stuff that is needed for the kitty's health! Congratulations.
I adopted brothers - litter mates - at Petsmart. They check references, called my vet while I was there as a reference - I wouldn't wait, someone else may snatch him up - plus, the sooner you take him they can get another one from the shelter and perhaps save it's life too by fostering it. I've volunteerd locally and it's so much fun to see these animals go to loving homes. PS - my guys were a little stressed in the beginning and had some accidents so you may want to keep the kitten confined to a room with a litterbox and food and water and let it adapt slowly. I didn't check out the picture but remember kittens can get into all sorts of trouble even when they are little - stuck, chew electrical wires, get collars stuck in curtains and hang, so keeping in a "safe" area is highly recommended for awhile when you are aren't around.
petsmart isnt the one actually offering the kitten , they jost different animal rescue shelters on a regualr basis and donate to most or all of them in the area that meet there criteria.

as for the kitten , I would do it now !! call the store and ask them what shelter this is through and go ahead and make the adoption. it might give room to another kitten that needs a home.

thanks for caring about animals without a home !
I adopted a kitten at Petsmart a few years ago. It's not as easy as you might think. The rescue group that had my cat went overboard. They do a criminal background check on you (which is fine). They also make you fill out lots of papers. I got phone calls from several people over the course of about two weeks and I had to agree to let them come to my house to "check up on him" whenever they wanted to. The funny part is that the only things they didn't like was the fact that my husband is a biologist (figure that one out) and that my son was 8 years old. They actually told me that they didn't care that my husband did research to save lives because they thought higher of animals than people. Just keep this in mind.

In the end, they gave me the cat but they made me take his "sister" as well. So, I ended up with two cats. Even though they claimed that both cats had regular vet care I took them to my vet only to find out they were quite sick. If you end up adopting this kitten I suggest you take it to the vet as soon as possible for a check up.

By the way, my neighbor takes in foster kids and she told me it was easier for her to get the kids than it was for me to get the cats!
Yes! I think that it is a great idea. Did you know that petsmart gets their cats and kittens from a humane society, so why not adopt a wonderful cat of their dreams! GO 4 IT!!! Good Luck! :)
