Can you guys give me some love? ♥?

Question:i'm having my little baby dog named Minnie, spayed in a couple days and I am just worried sick.. she's so tiny (she's a Shih tzu), but she's gonna be 6 months soon and I have to get her fixed before her heat cycle.. I guess how I feel is just normal for all pet moms huh?

if you can give me tips, words of encouragement, anything that can lessen my anxiety and help me help her with her recovery will be greatly appreciated.. thanks so much!

Dont be worried. You are doing a great thing in this world for fixing her. Helping by not having any more puppies. People need to be more responsible like you with there animals. The night before surgery do not feed your dog a lot. Do not feed her breakfast or lunch neither. Most likely you are going to feel bad and want to feed her but dont, it can mess her up during the surgery. The vet should tell you the same thing. Now, to cheer you up. Many dogs have gone through getting spayed and do just fine. During, recovery be sure to make sure she doesn't to a lot or excersize or runnin around. Just let her stay quiet and rest a lot. Most likely she will just want to rest. Give her lots of love and treats. Maybe a rawhide would be good so she is preoccupied and not excited. So don't worry to much. Also, don't feel bad about feeling worried. That just shows you are a fantastic mommy. Wish, Minnie good luck for me! :)

Yes it's normal to be worried, but just trust the vet. This is a very common procedure. Your dog will be a little woozy after the surgery, but she'll be back to her happy, healthy self in no time!! They don't even notice what's missing. She doesn't need much as far as recovery, except to be careful not to play too roughly with her because of the stitches. Sometimes vets give you the option of getting a pain pill or patch for your pet for the first day after the surgery, so if you feel so inclined and can afford it, by all means do.
I know how you feel though, my dog is 5 and she's still my baby girl, I love her so much. :)
The vets do thousands of these every year, your baby will be just fine. I just bought my German Shepherd pup Kemper, he went through it and when I went to pick him up he looked pitiful, with that big plastic thing around his head so he wouldn't chew on his surgery. Nevertheless, he got through it and so Will your baby. They are more content, less troubled with emotional baggage and for females, never having to worry about a period or dealing with little ones. All she will have to worry about is getting your love! God luck!
itll b ok
She'll be just fine. I've had so many dogs/cats done. Next month, I've got a male cat that I'm having neutered. This is the first male cat I've ever had. I know how you are feeling, but trust me, she will be just fine.
