Question:she spooks real easy at any thing if u walk up to her and she dont see you she will run or jump up
Answers:
we always de-spook our babies when they're born. tie her (LOOSELY!!) and get something she is afraid of make sure she sees you coming with it. slowly walk up to her, talking to her so she knows you are there (don't sneak up on her, you are trying to get her to acknowlege that the scary thing is not going to get her) let her smell the scary thing and after she has sniffed it and not spooked rub it on her face, then her neck, then her belly and so on. if she spooks back off and start all over again, always talking and praising her for keeping calm.
when you come up on her just talk so she knows you're there. she'll probably get less spooky as her training progresses.
Other Answers:
Time and getting to know you. Some horses are naturally "spooked" and will neveer calm down. but she may in time when she gets to know the sounds around her and gets comfortable with her surroundings.
well, place an apple on the ground slowly and walk away once a day put it closer and closer to her till she will take it out of your hand pet her run her around a little after she will allow you to touch her and just be patient she will come around
time and love. if you "send" a mental picture of calmness to her. picture her calm before you get near her. you are expecting her to freek so she does! get it? picture her calm befor during and after you approach her. good luck. and remember to be patient.
if you our your parents are unable to give her enough round pen time, and training, you should send her to a pro for a couple months. it will cost you but the end result is worth it. once she is ridable get as much time under saddle on her as possible. you can try taking a few de-spooking classes with her, there are usually clinics that travel around. ask your vet and trainer.
butchkans gives great advice! and beat me to it, too! LOL
I am working with a horse that had this problem. First you have to help her trust you. Let her know that when you are around, things will be okay. The more she is exposed to things coming up behind her, the sooner she will realize that it's okay. She may still never stop spooking. It's like people, sometimes a person will stay scared of something their whole life even when they know it's an irrational fear. Even if she still spooks though, you need to get her to the point where she will only sidestep or jump a little and not bolt or rear up with someone on her.
You just have to work with her alot, when u go to see her make sure she knows your there talk to her as you walk up to her.
