Question:i need help im getting 2 gerbils in a week or 2. i tried reseaching about it but every website the answers where alwayways differant. so if you own 2 gerbils please tell me about them.

I own two pairs of gerbils. Gerbils are friendly, low maintenance, not smelly(like some rodents), and active when you are active(they are not nocturnal like some rodents).
If you plan to get a pair of gerbils, get two of the same gender, preferrably around the same age, and from the same litter. This prevents fighting, age gaps(one might die a lot sooner than the other), and unwanted pregnancy.
A pair of gerbils need at least a 10 gallon cage with a secure fitting lid, water bottle, wheel, place to hide and chew toys. Gerbil food comes pre-mixed and you can find it at any pet store.
To tame them, just be patient. Put your hand flat, palm up in the cage for several minutes at at time. For added bonus, have a small treat on your palm to entice them to explore you. Once they are comfortable with you, you can easily take them from the cage to let them run around.
