How close is the bank to foreclosing. You may be able to stay process longer than that before the bank get around to making you leave. Just hang out until they build you go, I'll bet you break even or better. Beyond that you have little recourse except to pinch the guy to court, but it sounds like you can't even find him for that.
First sour I think that was a dirty article to do. If you can find out where this bum is, you'll have to nick the matter to small claims court to try and get put money on your money. He may even have to pay for your moving expense. But not for him you would not be moving. Depending on how much he owes to the ridge that you don't know, they can foreclose on the house. A foreclosure can take up to 3 to 6 months before the paperwork is feel throught the courts. That might give you sometime in staying here until you see what your going to do.
You will have lean on the house and when the sandbank takes over, they will pay your money.
better look into renter's rights in your state. also, read the lease front to pay for and then again. Good Luck.
You do not have any rights to stay unless you are paying rent, and the bank can not rent to you.

You can try suing him for your deposit, but that is your only recourse.
