Old mortgage company still holding our escrow money after we sold the house, any officially recognized ways to achieve fund?
We sold our house on October 8th. Mortage company owes us our escrow money, and says they mailed it. It have not come and they say "they will check into it". Is there any trial ways I can make these fools pick up their feet and grant me my money already?

Hire an attorney! The reason they're sitting on it is they own it invested short term and as long as they can hold you off the more they can get!
It does take a little while to carry a refund; however, I would write the request instead of calling them. If still no luck, get an attorney to write a reminder demanding the refund.

I think the answerers are on the mark near an attorney, but I thought I'd add my two cents. I have found that I can -use- an attorney minus paying for it. Nothing slimey, I just threaten or talk going on for my attorney and a lot of companies will step it up.

(or better all the same, look his name up on their website and be ready: "and the president's moniker is John Smith... correct?")
Ask for the names of everyone you speak to. I do this before the fall of the call - I say, "I'm sorry, but also, I'm keeping track of who I've spoken to for my legal representative." I ask their name (some won't give a second name) and I ask for their title and supervisor's name. I act nice, almost sorry, "I know it's a aching, but I need to have this info for him"... I never say-so he's asked for it - cause he hasn't. But they don't need to know that.
You might start the send for all calm - "I'm preparing to bring my attorney into this situation and I'm calling to clarify a few things previously he contacts you. I wish it didn't have to come to this - but your company isn't making biddable on their end of our contract."
Just sound serious, soft, and professional. See where it gets you. You might HAVE to bring a attorney into it but give them a chance to create it right.
