What would be the most efficient instrument of getting into the mortgage business today?

Yes, Yes, I know everybody thinks they are/were thieves, but I choose to deduce that is the exception, not the rule. anyways ,i'm interested in the business, what do I hold to do to get into the business? licensing, how would I convince an agency to bring me contained by, i've got past sale experience, but not high ticket like that.
