What are the penalty for paying a UK residential mortgage impulsive?

Hi Everybody, what are the penalties if I pay my UK residential mortgage hasty?

For instance, if I was able to wages out my entire mortgage in say 6 years, instead of 25 years? What munificent of penalties would apply in that scenario?
Answers:
My expertise is Washington State contained by the USA but I think the answer would, more than likely, be one and the same in the UK. The mortgage agreement must specify any prepayment penalties that are included. Well qualified buyers that I hold helped buy homes over the last few years hold never had any prepayment penalties. When at hand are penalties (less qualified borrowers) they often one and only apply for a few years. You can check your mortgage agreement. Better yet, call the company that holds the mortgage. They can probably answer that quiz in a heart beat. Source(s): I am a valid estate broker.
Would totally depend on the terms of your mortgage, they are nearly all different. Low start and fixed rate mortgages tend to cost more for precipitate redemption, but even that's not a hard and fast rule.

Might not cost you a penny extra...might cost you thousands.

The single people who could tell you this is your mortgage lender.

Sorry that's not much minister to, but it is the truth.
