Does anyone know a perfect website to check DAILY mortgage rate fluctuations (mainly for a a 30 year)?

I am buying a house in LA and working with 2 mtg. brokers and get a lock at 5.85% on Monday and want to see where rates have gone since next bc I guess they have been TRUE volatile and last week they were solidly above 6 for awhile. Thanks!

When mortgage rates are reported by the medium, they are talking about average rates among tons lenders. The only website that would probably help you would be the one those mtg. brokers use.

If you are hoping that the rates progress lower then you should not get a lock. The pupose of the lock is to guarantee that they will loan to you at the rate quoted. For a 30 year fixed rate mortgage, 5.85% is excellent and you should probably be content near that.

Whenever you try to time something like the stock market, the housing open market, or interest rates so that you buy at the best time, you are gambling. You are trying to predict the future and that is to say notoriously difficult to do--it is impossible. Source(s): I am a real estate broker.
