Where can I find statistics something like what percentage of American Mortgages are ARMs (Adjustable Rate Mortgages?)?

I'm looking for historical data on the percentage of outstanding mortgages. I want to know: what type of mortgage they were, the duration, interest rates, prepayment rates, failure to pay rates, location, etc...

Good luck!!

Most mortgage companies keep that info private. I know each county courthouse keep a record of sale for homes in that county, but I am not sure how to find that info on a larger scale. Try the Department of Commerce website.
