Mortgage Loan Officer Pay?

What is typical pay for a loan officer? I was offered a position next to a company and I'm not sure about it and just considered necessary to hear what others thought. (By the way, this company is in Maryland).

The position offer a base pay of $6.55 per hour near commissions on loans averaging $1500-2000 per loan. The $6.55 hourly is a draw, so I would pay that back out of any commissions I am making.

Is this in the order of average or not right at all?

Thanks for your help surrounded by advance!

Sounds about right to me. No actual settle, straight commission. Them offering a draw is nice; many places don't do that.
