You can get a mortgage. You will pay 7.5 percent interest for 30 years. Someone near great credit would pay 6.5 percent. /
You’re forgetting that not everyone with “bad credit” has a vehicle repo on their credit report. Things as simple as overdraft fees on your bank account can motivation you to be denied a mortgage.

Think about this from a lender’s perspective. If you couldn’t keep up next to payments on a, let’s say, $20K loan, how would you keep up beside payments on a loan twice that much? The only way a lender can adjudicate what you might do to them is to assess what you’ve done in the past. Right in a minute, your past doesn’t bode well for you.

You could other shop a few more lenders, but I expect they’ll all give you indistinguishable answer…or charge you an insane interest rate.

You might enjoy to wait 12 months so the lender can see a payment history on the repo. Just kind sure that you don't miss a payment. You will be able to bring a mortgage, you will just have to hold a down payment, because FHA will not finance you w/o that repo salaried in full, or 12 months of payments with the clean plan.
