Can you still win mortgage financing if you enjoy overdraft protection and use it? I own pretty flawless credit.?

I also am a veteran, so can get a VA loan, but my current rent is too high, so i live paycheck to paycheck. I want to buy an inexpensive house (around 100,000) so my mortgage will be lower than the rent I currently repay (1000 a month)

Check with your lender. You should interview several mortgage lenders and work with one that you go and get along with personally and who have a good lending history. Also, trademark sure your lender is also the entity that is going to service your loan after closing - if they sell your loan urgently upon close and you will have to deal near an 800 number, this is not the right lender for you.

Using your overdraft account really shouldn't matter to most lenders - most of the time those do not show on your credit report. Work near a good lender, and a good Realtor who can oblige you find the answers you need and you should do just fine.

Good luck to you! Source(s): Eau Claire, WI Realtor
