My mortgage broker say he cannot administer me a copy of the credit report I compensated him for. I know this is not true.

What reference can I give him to show him this is no longer the regulation and that he CAN give me a copy.

I found full details on this website:

He doesn't want you to shop brokers/loans. Call him on it... I got to see mine, because near were some *questionable* activities that I needed to comment on for underwrite.

Call him on it... Even if you order your own copy outside of the lender, you may not see the same detail.

Please know that HE desires you more than you need him, there are plenty of brokers out in that that will give you the requested information. PS Why did you pay surrounded by advance anyway? You should not have to settle up anything out of pocket in advance... kind sure you are dealing with someone *reputable*
The link below contains the Fair Credit Reporting Act that would regulate what you are looking for.

There is zilch in this act that say they HAVE to give a copy of the report, but there also isn't anything preventing them from giving it to you any.

It does say, however, that if you are denied credit you are allowed to contact the credit reporting agency who supplied the information used to base the denial on, and seize a free credit report.

Note that this does NOT apply to credit scores, only your credit report. But again, if the credit chalk up was uses as the basis of your denial you can still capture a free credit report.

Hope this answers your question. Source(s): http://www.cardreport.com/laws/fcra/fcra…
The notes cited in the first response does not address your question, and within fact it is my understanding that your broker is not supposed to tender you a copy of the report. But many brokers and bankers will do so as a courtesy, and you certainly can give an account the broker that if he is unwilling to cooperate that you will take your business elsewhere.
Actually I believe he's right and that if you want a copy you have to request your own. Hopefully you realize that you can achieve a FREE copy from all three credit bureaus once a year by going to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i…

Of course if you want to BS him, you might try demanding a copy under the "Freedom of Information Act" base on the fact it has your Social Security Account Number on it. Source(s): Good Luck!
You can get your credit report free from the internet once per year. Most sites that contribute free reports are scams, so use this one:
