It's righteous that you're caught up on your back mortgage payments, that portion of your mark will correct itself in 6-9 months, assuming that your lender reports to the credit bureaus monthly.
The big problem is the 3 credit cards that were closed. It's doomed to failure if 1 card is closed but 3 --- goodness! It's gonna take 1-2 years to rectify that. For one you no longer enjoy the history of those 3 accounts, so it can't be used in the calculation of your FICO chalk up.
The negative account history will be on your credit report for a minimum of 7 years from the morning you paid and/or closed the account.
You will need at least 24 months of consistent, on the dot payment history to begin to see modification in your score. It will rob even longer to see that 760 again.
Were you 30-days late 3 times or did you go 90-days tardy? Two periods of late payments inside the past year is a very serious hit on your credit. Source(s): BD
