Appealing against mortgage edict after credit ranking be wrong?
My partner applied for a mortgage from Nationwide but was refused due to his credit check. They told us that affordability be fine but wouldnt say exactly where we fell down on credit check.
On checking near Experien the score was 999 however it have messed up previous postcode with new postcode so wasnt complementary up as being on electoral register - plus all the accounts be doubled up (ie 2 credit cards exact same)
Finally after a battle with Experien to capture it all rectified the different score is 814 which our mortgage broker said should be fine. He has appealed against the refusal beside Nationwide to avoid a further footprint on credit file.
Any one any experience of this? Or information on how it works?
Many thanks

As you own discovered, the lender is under no obligation to share near you the reason you have erstwhile a credit score – although in this shield it does seem likely that the mix-up on your Experian folder could have been to blame. Once you hold submitted your up to date credit report to Nationwide and asked them to reconsider, they might change their decree, particularly in prospect of the fact that you feel everything should in a minute support your application. You should note that the lender does have the right to stand by its unproved decision – however, lenders do rely on the credit report being accurate and chalk up you accordingly – so if this has changed it might be enough to secure an offer –particularly if your income stacks up as you enjoy suggested. Hopefully they will reverse your decision but if not you should still approach another lender, making sure you ask them to help yourself to into account your explanation regarding the ‘footprints’ on your credit report.
