My husband and I want to try and obtain pre-qualified for a mortgage. He have much better credit than I do.?

When filling out the application is it possible to make him the primary borrower, and a short time ago use my income and not do a joint or co-borrower status for myself? We live in Arizona.
Answers:
What you really entail is to be pre approved, not just pre qualified - pre approval shows that you are a serious buyer and are approved for " X" amount of $$$..as far as the rest of your question, I am powerless to help :}
Sorry but AZ is a community property state which means your credit will be pulled even if you are not on the loan. In insert there is no way to include your income short your credit. As long as your mid score is at least 580+ and you're working near the right mortgage professional, you should be able to get an FHA loan. Source(s): I'm a mortgage banker/broker
You can not use your income and not your credit, you enjoy to combine everything. I believe AZ is a community property state (not 100% sure), but that would disallow one of you to buy without the others involvement.
