Can my wife reasonably insist our fully developed son stay at home? Wife and I hold reciprocal mortgage and I approaching him to hand down?

She can't legally insist he can stay if he wants to step, but I am guessing she makes it dead comfortable for him to be at hand, so he is not keen to leave.

Talk to her around this - some women get scared when their kids go away home that they will have nothing to natter to their husbands about...
If he is under 18 consequently yes he lives where ever she says he lives. Also, it is her son.... So you own take that into account. I'm assuming he's your stepson and possibly you guys don't get along. But there are other ways around that. :)
She can't produce him stay he is an adult ! But you two have to work out the issue of your conflicting desires for your son since she say's he can stay if he decide to there really isn't much you can do about it next to out starting a family war
