Question:Ok well i have decided to breed my male and female betta fish. My question is, whenever he sees her he makes himself look big and it kinda looks like he is going to attack her but they cant touch eachother becuase they are in a tank that has a piece of glass in the middle so they have eye contact but not physical contact. Is this normal? Is this his way of dancing around on his nose for her?
Answers:
That's pretty normal behavior for a male. Before you decide to breed them please read the information on breeding bettas and raising the fry in this website: http://www.bettatalk.com/
There's a lot more involved than just putting the two together without the divider. You need to have a proper set-up for breeding, plus you'll need to have food prepared before the fry arrive.
Also don't forget that you will need a 10 gallon tank to breed them and a lot of cups for the fry when you have to seperate them
