Question:Ok well i have decided to breed my male and female betta fish. My question is, whenever he sees her he makes himself look big and it kinda looks like he is going to attack her but they cant touch eachother becuase they are in a tank that has a piece of glass in the middle so they have eye contact but not physical contact. Is this normal? Is this his way of dancing around on his nose for her? I also have another question. Where can i go on the internet to get correct info and steps on breeding Bettas. Also, If you are a betta breeder i would like to email you with questions if you dont mind.

Well, male bettas are very territorial. Even to females. If the female is not in heat when you put them together to breed them, the male will attack the female. I'm not exactly sure on how you know if the female is in heat or not, so I suggest asking a vet or a person that works at a pet store. About the male getting big, that is betta fish's way f saying, "Oh, i'm big. Don't mess with me or I'll getcha!" So that is normal. glad I could help! : ) I suggest www.bettacenter.com

yes that is normal, males attck the females, but what your doing is fine. HE will attack her.
The thing is, when the male stops attacking her 100% of the time, and seems to flare and dance at her and goes back under the nest, thats when he is ready to breed.

Yes, male betas are very aggressive and he probably would like to kick the crap out of your female.
They are not that hard to breed, but you must be meticulous.
I have a pair of Betas when i first got the female the male would chase her all the time, and she would hide whenever she could, now a month or so later she chasses him its so funny. keep them together and he will blow bubbles on the top of the water line, when she lays eggs he will put them in his mouth and put them in the bubbles till they are grown enough to go it on their own
