I had two fish I loved.. ones name was Herman George Goldie and the others name was Melvin.. Herman lived two years and died of old age..Melvin lived almost a year he got Ick... sorry to hear about it... even though you can't cuddle with them they do have their own personalities... Herman thought he was a dolphin..
Could be fungus or if it looked like it was salt it is Ick/Ich
Tommy had "ick",happens alot,the pet store will have stuff called "ICK" to get rid of it.
It could be a type of fungus or it could be fom the type of food or something. It also could be something thats in the water i would clean out the water and bowl or whatever and put new foog in there and i would also take some of the decorations out.

My friend's husband worked in a petstore and he said that a lot of the fishes sold there had this condition just as you described. It's called ICK and there are products that can help get rid of it. Unless it's too advanced of a case--my friend says there was a betta fish that had it and it looked like it was wearing a white sweater. Gah!

ich my guppy had it but luckly i cought it early enough to treat it. ugg that was a pain.
if think the disease is called fungus or ick. use tablets to make you new fish better.
