Eatting it's own tentacles?

Question:When I was about to go to sleep My anemone was all puhhed up looking normal, then about an hour later, it's sort of turned into a bubble. With little tiny tentacles sticking out of it's mouth. Is it sleeping?

Answers:
Corals and anemones will change shape at night. Some go to sleep, others wake up and open their polyps, completely changing their appearance.

If your anemone just ate, this is normal. He will soon bildge and be back to normal. Sometimes when the lights are out for extended periods they will also do this. No he is not sleeping since they don't sleep.

The only other reason the anemone will do this is poor water conditions i.e. high ammonia or nitrites or even nitrates over 80ppm.
