Hi

I would suggest you get a bigger tank. We have progressed from about a 50l tank to a 128l tank over the last year. We had 6 goldfish to start with the same as you have plus a comet! We now have 10, although the 4 new ones are little dinky ones! We also have 3 stone suckers which are also small. We took advice from a local aquatic centre and found out that goldfish are hardy things and can live up to 15 years. They do grow to the size of their surroundings and the tanks should not be crowded.

Dont fuss the fish too much but make sure the tank has a filter which is cleaned regularly and you change about 15% of the water every 3-4 weeks. Turn the light off at night and if yo have a bubble blower turn that off at night too. It would be good for you to get a book or do some internet research so you learn about the fish. If you can find a reputable local aquatic place then take their advice too.

Hope this helps

Good Luck

Dean

No goldfish are good for a 35L tank. Give up your dream of goldfish unless you get 200L or more. You can have some very nice tetras, livebearers, and cory cats in a 35L. 35L is equivalent to 10.5 gallons. There is a reason why you are not having much luck and it has 99% to do with the size of the tank, regardless of what the advertizing on the box said.
the problem with goldfish is that they tend to be mass produced and one of your stumbling blocks here is going to be finding a reliable good source of fish in your area , i am of course assuming your tank is filtered and you have checked your water parameters , also the you have your water well aireated , a bit more info on your setup and maintanance routine will help you get a better more spacific answer here
Dwarf Puffers are very interesting, intelligent and active fish. They learn to recognize their owner and will come to the glass to see what you're up to whenever you're in the room. They also will beg for food (they even learn what the container looks like) or follow your finger around the glass. If you put your hand in the tank, they will have to be right by it at all times. It's as if they have to know exactly what you're doing! You also have to be careful when siphoning water from the tank, because their curiosity will sometimes lead them a little too close to the siphon tube! I've sucked one up a time or two and had to rescue them from the bucket! These little guys have tons of personality and are by far one of the most fun fish to own :) Their relatively low pricing ($2.00-$5.00 U.S.) and the fact that they can be kept in smaller aquariums have definitely helped as well. Dwarf Puffers now account for the majority of new pufferfish
Hold it bud! I don't agree with the other answers. I think you can have lovely goldfish....as long as its only 2. You should have about 5 gallons for each good sized goldfish. I have 2 nice goldfish in a 10 gal. right now and they're doing great! Here's the secret list..must have a filter to clean and reoxygenate the water, must have water changes every few days to reduce ammonia and add more fresh oxygen and also you must add some sea salt! In a ten gallon I think they get a tablespoon or two but the package will recommend from the petstore. Get a couple of nice fantails. Feed them about 3 times per day with a good quality goldfish food (the cheaper ones are fine) a little pinch .no more. I mean lets face it..Goldfish are a rough fish like carp. What usually kills off goldies is improper or inconsistent feeding. THey will eat until they explode and if you only feed them once a day imagine how hungry they are!! I've had tanks that were in sunny places and the sides were literally green with algae and the fish were in heaven. In fact, they were nibbling on the algae! Do a full takedown of the tank 3-4 times a year but keep about a cup of dirty bottom gravel to sprinkle in first as it contains bacteria that break down waste. Add these first then put in your washed or replacement gravel. My goldies come to the surface and get all excited when they feel the vibration of me walking up to them.chow time! Last but not least..GO BUY A DAMN BOOK ABOUT GOLDFISH !
The more you learn the better aquarist you will be..good luck
fish grow to the size of their environment, and for a 35 litre tank i would recommend 2 or 3 at the most if you want to add decorations in the tank. Comets and Fantails are the hardiest sort of goldfish and can be kept in any tank as long as it is big enough and has cold water.
some other fish that you could get are neons, guppies, barbs etc. these are all small fish that can come in a variety of different colours so you can have a colourful tank. all of these are suitable in a cold water tank and are pretty low maintenance.
hope this helped
