What driftwood is suitable for use in a fish tank?

Question:I'm starting up a discus tank again after about a six-year hiatus. At that time I had some beautiful pieces of driftwood in my tank and also had a publication that listed what varieties of trees worked the safest. Now I no longer have the book, nor do I remember what trees worked.

Answers:
I have never heard of one type being better than another, but I would guess that the softer woods would be better and easier for them to rasp. This site claims to have special driftwood that is porus.

malaysian driftwood is very good. depending on if you want to go black water in your tank, you may have to soak it and/or boil it, to help leech out the tannins.
malaysian bogwood and african driftwood
Just keep in mind the bogwoods can and do alter the PH in your tank.
