Question:I just got my Betta Fish 2-3 weeks ago. Should I give him to someone to watch and feed? Or should I just leave him at home?
Answers:
Just leave your betta for 2 days - this is a walk in the park for a fish. Anybody with an understanding of how a fishes cold blooded body works would not be uncomfortable leaving their fish for a few days, or even a couple of weeks without food - the way their bodies work it would amaze you how long they can survive without food, and with no negative health effects either!
Those feeding blocks are useless - they hold almost no nutrition, all filler, and have been known to pollute tanks. Those who buy these things are essentially paying extra to not feed their fish anyway.
why not take him with you? your just leaving for two days right ?
oh they can last several months fins up of course
pet stores, walmart, grocery stores all sale vacation fish feeders drop one it, its fed automatically.
your betta will be fine not being fed for 2 or 3 days
let your neighbor watch him
THEY CAN GO FOR 2 DAYS BUT ITS BEST IF THEY DON'T. AT PET STORES THEY SELL THIS BLOCK OF FOOD THAT YOU STICK IN THE TANK...ITS ENOUGH FOOD FOR UP TO A WEEK.
I wouldn't stave him. I would buy one of those vacation foods clunks, that you put in the bowl and the fish feeds itself. Giving it to someone might not work, because they might forget.
He should be fine for two days. There are food blocks you can buy at the fish store that dissolve slowly for a longer time away.
Two days will be just fine. Feed before you leave and when you get home. Just don't overfeed, that makes the water dirty with rotting food.
Just buy vacation feeders for a few dollars. They usually last anywhere from 3 days to a week I believe. That's the safe way to do it. They might be ok for two days but why risk it?
Yes, fish can survive a few days without food, but to put your mind at ease, your best bet would be to buy a food block from your local pet store. They sit at the bottom of the tank and disperse food when disolved over a period of time.

it will be fine. i leave mine for a whole weekend and he does great
Please STAY AWAY from the vacation feeders, they do more harm then good, they will only pollute your tank
Just feed your betta before you leave and he will be absolutely fine, but don't overfeed him, only the usual amount
Hope that helps
Good luck

Most fish can go without food for a week or longer, let alone 2 days. Feed him right before you leave, and when you come back, he should be fine.

It will survive just fine without food for two days. But if you are worried, then:
1. Let a neighbor watch him
2. Get an automatic fish feeder
3. Get a fish food pellet, they slowly dissolve, dispersing the fish food inside. They can last up to a week.
4. Take him with you, if you can
