Feeding my fish?

Question:i have a male betta i've had it for at least a week the person who sold it to me said 1 pinch of food but my fish loves to eat so i give him 2 pinches is that ok ??

Answers:
Don't overfeed. The information on the food packaging is often wrong. They want you to feed more so that you run out faster and buy more food. Overfeeding will make your fish poop more whic means you dirty the water faster and have to clean a lot more. It's also not good for your fish.

Eating too much can result in constipation or swim bladder disease (where the fish has problems swimming straight). Some betta owners even have a starve day where they don't feed their fish so that they can clean out their digestive systems.

In the wild, fish aren't accustomed to eating a lot every day because there isn't that much food available. This means they'll eat until they get sick because they're not conditioned to stop. They can survive weeks without food, so don't worry if you don't feed them until they're satiated.

If you feed him pellets, 6 or 7 pellets per DAY is a good amount, or you can supplement bloodworms or brine shrimp for a couple pellets. If you feed flakes, which isn't the best choice of food because bettas tend to get constipated with flake food (this is from personal experience).

You can actually feed him a little bit of the soft, mushy, insides of a pea every once in a while to help prevent constipation. Bettas love peas and they're full of fibre which helps.

well you should probably just feed him one pinch, the betta will eat whatever you put in the tank. remember, a fish's stomach is about the same size of its eye.
Feed your fish as much as he can eat within several minutes. You can do this twice a day. Preferably during the day and then at night. Make sure you remove any excess food.
Fish are pretty stupid I'm afriad. It's too stupid to know when to stop eating. If you feed them too much they die. Some even explode.(Bad experiences) I would recomend to stay with the suggested amount.
give him as much he can eat in 2 minutes. Over feeding can kill hime.
You should be okay, I have a betta as well, and I give it enough to eat in 2-3 minutes, which is about 2 pinches of food.
