My betta fish is swimming in circles upside down, is he dying?

Question:I just got my Betta fish Reuban and he's having problems. He's swimming around in circles and upside down. And i'm afraid what might be blood is comming out from his gill after he jumped out of his tank to the floor, and i had to put him back in, is it possible that he is now dying? And is there anything i can do to help him?

Answers:
Im sorry but i think he is dying too, my betta i had long time ago refused to eat too before he died, in the middle of the night.
Mine jumped out about 2 or 3 times and it still survived, but it depends, if it is at a weak state at the time, if u just got him he may have gotten a little stress, being moved to his tank.
But if he is bleeding from his gills after the jumping accident, like the others said, he probably got injured from the accident.
Im very sorry =[ And the idea of having it pass on the humane way was good like someone else said.
Research on the web a painfree way. I heard u can do somin with the freezer or somin, but im not sure.
And im not so sure but if it is constantly swimming upside down like it cant help it, it might be swim bladder which is caused by over feeding.
Well, best of luck with Reuban
I hope i helped =] oh and this site might be useful, i should of used it with my betta but it was too late, mine already died a long time ago so, i hope it will help^-^

Yes he is dieing. Im sorry. and no there isn't anything you can do.
no he isnt dieing he is just having fun
no it isnt
ya hes dead srry for ur loss
He may be dying, but maybe not. If he jumped out, he could be injured. Is the water the right temperature and all that?
Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow. Don't try to feed him anymore for a day. Let him recover if he can.
I'm very sorry, but that is the exact same behavior that my Beatta, Kirby, exhibited before he died. Condolences
he is dying if he is bleeding from his gills. you can either wait til he passes on or find a humane way to end his misery. I am sorry about him but its his time to go even if you just got him. I had a hamster for 2 days before she passed on. So if its his time to go then its his time to go.
probably just stress. leave him alone for a day or so, put him in an area where he won't be disturbed at all. try adding some stress coat and aquarium salt (for freshwater tanks) to his water, 1/2 a teaspoon of aquarium salt for every gallon of water he's in. dissolve it water before putting him in or adding it to the tank.

the temp should be between 78°F and 82°F preferably. which means bowls aren't a good idea. he should be in a tank that's at least 2.5 gallons, has a small filter, and a heater. oh, and a thermometer to make sure the temp stay consistant.
yes he is dying. He most likly had a swim bladder problem, thats waht happens its happened to tons of my fish, they cant control themselves, there almost like a bubble of air, any current moves them like crazy. Your pet shop most likely has a warranty and you can put him in a bag and take him to the store and try again.
he is dying; however, u can try to help him. Internal injuries when he jumped out. Make sure no heater, live plant will give him more oxgen, bubble machine to help him breath easier, but actually there is not much u can do.
it sounds like a disease and falling onto the floor did not do him good if possible i would take out the fish and put it into a aquarium alone and call the shop that you purchases him from and tell them if it was me i would take him back and get him changed its not normal i cant say yes or no to whether it will die or not but i think it will. by the way the fish is acting cause the fish will be in pain. so call some good fish shops and get the fish checked over by a vet.
I am not sure but it does not sound good. While my Betta is a frisky fellow and swims all over, he is never upside down.

See if the fish store can offer any advice. Poor thing :(
