Question:

Answers:
no goldfish are cold water fish and tropical fish need a heater

no
goldfish need cold water and tropical fish need heated water
I did and didn't have any problems, not sure what an experts answer would be though ?
no they'll die. the same thing happened to me.
yeah but they will die, the goldfish that is!
no, the goldfish will get jealous.
No. Goldfish and tropical fish require different temperatures of water. Tropical fish tanks have heaters. Goldfish need cooler (room temperature) water.
I'm sure you shouldn't really. Goldfish should be kept in cooler water. I have done it though. They got really big! Lived a long while too.
I don't know if you can keep them together but gold fish can be kept in cold or warm water!
Go on see what happens My grandmother God rest her soul
put a cat fish in with her gold fish and he ate one of their eyes
Isn't one fresh water and the other salt water?

Call the pet store.
Many tropical fish eat one another & it's important to know what species thrive together.
I would keep goldfish in a unheated tank. They are more like pond fish if you think about it. I keep in a bowl, or like 5 gal tank with small filter if n tank. Thats all they really need.
As many others said, goldfish need cooler water, while tropical fish need warmer water.
Also, depending on the type of tropical fish you have, your goldfishs' fins may be picked on.
They have different dietary requirements and goldfish are DIRTY. They produce a lot of ammonia and tropical fish can't handle that.
So, my answer is no. Both may be able to live together for a short while, but one set, most likely both, will not thrive.
yes if you want em battered, and served with chips?
I got my mom 2 gold fish. and than she seen my frogs and my neon's So i brought her a heater and a couple frogs and some neon's. I know what they say Goldfish cool water only, Well All of her fish and frogs are doing great and they keep growing. They look and seem very happy in the heated tank. I wouldn't keep temp of tank at 80 keep it in low 70degrees
This is just my opinion and a lot of people would not agree to keep gold fish in a heated tank
i have had goldfish and tropical fish together for years goldfish are a good kind of fish cos they can be in with tropical fish or they can be in coldwater mine goldfish are in with shurbunkins , mollies , neons and glowlights and ive no problems at all one goldfish is 6 years old temp of water between 20-24 0c so yes they can
yes you can and they eat more and are more lively plus they come in all shapes and sizes i kept them together for years
Hi, the simple answer is no if you want happy fish!

Goldfish & tropical fish both require different temperature water to thrive so by keeping them together one or other will suffer & if you go for a temperature compromise that is mid-way between that which both fish require then they will all suffer.
No, they need different temperatures and differnt food, and goldfish get a lot bigger than most tropicals and will eat them.

One type will die if they are kept in the same tank. You can get universal fish like white cloud mountain minnows and some sucking loaches.
No goldfish with goldfish only. No pleco either.
You could do it, but when you pick out the tropical fish as tank mates for your goldfish, get the species that can handle a wider range of temperatures. Guppies and mollies might work. (I have guppies with my goldfish.) In that case, a heater is not required. Goldfish do handle colder temperatures better. Do a little research before getting the tropical fish. If research isn't your thing, then stick with either goldfish or tropicals. (Pet stores will usually tell you this too.)

One more point -- if you get goldfish, get a bigger tank, such as a 55 gallon tank, and only a two or three fish. If you don't have the room for a big tank, go with the tropical fish. Smaller tanks and even the "goldfish bowls" are not good for goldfish at all.
defiantly not one needs cold water the other needs an heater
yes you can as long as you float them in a plastic bag with water inside to gain the same temperature leave for 24 hours.
Danios can tolerate cold or tropical temps so they would be a good mix with SMALL tropicals such as neons.
i would say definately no!! gold fish are bred in cold water and they should stay in cold water, transferring them to tropical water can be a shokc to them and kill them, if the goldfish survives then it wont live as long as it should the warmer water speeds up there metabolism making them age quicker and more likely to become ill the best thing is if you want goldfish keep them in cold water, if you want tropical keep tropical there are two different types of fish and there enviroments are different for a reason so keep the goldfish in a nice coldwater tank
yeh
no goldfish need cold water and tropical fish need hot you can't keep them together and keep them both happy
Gold fish and tropicals should never be kept together! Not only because of the cold/warm water issue either. Gold fish can carry parasites that in warm water will affect your tropicals, which haven't the resistance the goldfish do to the same parasites.

Also goldfish are dirty fish.. the make a HUGE mess and your tropicals prolly can't handle that mess at all. Gold fish are also veracios eaters and the competition for food would be a problem for your warm water fish They could starve to death from the stress
