If you are talking about flakiness, and the pug 'digs' at himself; we would put vegetable oil in his kibbles (about 2 tsp) and I think it's vitamin B that's supposed to help; but talk to your vet. It seemed to be a chronic thing. Oh, find out if he/she has allergies to fleas; sometimes this can happen...

my aunt had a sharpi that used to get lots of rashes. check a good pet food store and ask for help with finding the right foods and what creams or sprays you can use to help things.

I use an additive to their food...it's called shed relief and is an oily mineral additive that has Omega-3 in it. Pugs are prone to dry itchy skin so when I bath mine I also use a very mild hair conditioner too like Suave...something with not much perfumey smell to it.
