Question:which one is more friendly, playful and loyal to it's owner? and easier to take care of?
Answers:
whippets are more friendly and loyal to their owner. keyword: owner. They are shy and distant with strangers and would rather stick by you than anyone else. They do not listen at all to people they don't know. So if your whippet escapes from you and runs off, don't expect anyone else to be able to catch him. You have to train them very well with the "come" command and always keep them on a leash when not in a fenced in area. They have a wash and wear coat and they don't have a strong stinky doggie odor. They are usually quite indoors and very active out doors. They have terrier blood in them so they can be quite bratty at times
cocker spaniels are friendly to everyone and because they are really hunting dogs it is ok to let them off the leash because they will actually come when you call. If you loose him it would be a lot easier for someone to catch him. Cockers have loads of long hair so guess what that means. Lots of shedding and grooming to keep the coat from matting and knotting up. They are high energy all the time indoors and out. They like to jump and be the center of your attention. They can be very demanding and annoying
I would say get the cocker spaniel. My friend has one has she is so playful and obeys her really well. Even though this is just my opinion, i still say go with the cocker spaniel!
I dont know that much about whippets but I do know about Spaniels. They are lovely happy and very loyal dogs. They usually attach themselves to one member of the family. They are energetic and like lots of fun and walkies. The downside is, they will chew everything while they are little. I lost shoes chairs a telephone, carpets and door jambs. Whippets are a little scatty and energetic when they are little, but very loving. A friend has one called Lulu and she is mega cute. She does want run off from time to time. This is not because she wants to escape but because she sees or hears something she is curious about. If you have a whippet, make sure your garden is secure. Whatever you decide, enjoy your new dog.
i would pick a whippet because they are more beautiful for me, but my two friends have a cocker and they are so dumb!
they bark a lot, hard to teach them...so i would pick a whippet
I've had both, and I would say a whippet is a much easier pet to keep clean and train.
