Question:a friend of mine has a 6 mos old dog who gets freaked out by cars, ie, barking like crazy, tries to chase them and just acts scared.

Now if only I could get my dog to understand that cars aren't really big dogs that just don't want to play with her. LOL
He's not scared of them he's aggressive toward them.
well when my dog got hit by a car, after he recovered he was really scared of cars but he got over it. her dog might have gotten hit by a car in the past or some other type of bad expireince with a car, you never know.
Are the cars moving or parked or both? What kind of dog does your friend have. She many have a hunting or herding breed therefore training will be more difficult. How does she correct the dog of make him feel better when he is scared? Anwering these questions will give me a better understanding of the problem and proper training methods.
jus try 2 teach the dog that it can get hurt by the cars
Try driving the dog a few times of course close all car windows and let him get used to his surrounding so he can realize they are not that scary.My dog when i walk her out she goes straight to the car and she wants to be driven around in the car so just not to disappoint her i have to drive her around my neighborhood for a little or just pretend...lol
