Question:Every night my Lab is barking like crazy. I've heard that in my area there are coyotes (in Seattle? I don't know ...) and racoons but I never see anything. HE WON'T STOP!

your dog has 5 times the better hearing and smelling than humans so he might be hearing things you can't hear.

purchase a bark collar-available at walmart. They give a mild jolt when the dog barks and as it continues to bark the zaps increase in strength to a safe level of course and they teach the dog not to bark. Eventually you can take it off. I used it on my dog and it worked great.

He hears or smells something, let the dog see you look out the window and let him know that everything is OK. keep your doors locked, he may hear somebody, not nomething.
He may not like being outside alone, and yes he may see and hear things that u don't see or hear, their hearing and vision is 10 times better than ours. Ok, i don't want to freak you out or anything.. but you must understand that dogs are sensitive creature, i have three rotweiller dogs guarding my house. The reason they are barking is because they are barking at spirits or ghosts, you cannot see them but the dogs can.
When i lost my father, my dogs barks frequently at night and one time i was watching tv downstairs and notice them barking. At first i thought there was a cat or someting outsie but this time i decided to take a look, and i saw with my very eyes that the dogs are barking to a wall. I insticntly know who are they barking at...
