Answers:
my dogs like the soft a meaty ones like the moist and meaty ( its from a famous company that starts with a p i forget the name though) they also like steak and bacon stuff .. they like just rawhides or flavored rawhides or they like the iams bones ( but they are expensive kinda) and they like these green ones ( not greenies) but they look sort of like them ...anyway target has a good selection of rawhides and other treats ..
It depends :)
Carrots..apple pieces...peanuts....
bits of a wiener or cheese? :)
Don't buy store "treats", it's crap :)
IAMS dog food makes little snacks that would be good, I'm sure, as they're a very good brand name of dog food!
Dingo Minis, Toros and Old Mother Hubbard Puppy Biscuits. Dingos in my opinion are one of the best rawhide bones you can get, Toro's for Puppies are also good & have a soft middle, but with any rawhide treat you need to monitor them, so they don't tear a piece off and choke on it. Kong Puppy Ziggies are good for when your puppy gets a bit older. Old Mother Hubbard Puppy biscuits are filled with vitamins, so they are good for the first year and my pups are very picky and they seem to enjoy these the best. For training my husband and I have used a few things including Nutro training bits & Beggin Strips (small ones)which have to be cut down so they won't try to swollow the whole thing, but our favorite thing to use is Nathan's Hot Dog Treats for dogs (the small one's) I just cut them in half and they seem to enjoy these a lot.
For chew toys it depends on the individual pet, but my dogs love soft small stuffed animals with the squeaker inside & anything that is stuffed with the rope attached. You have to remember that chi's are small so make sure the toy fits the size of the dog.
If you're looking for training treats, the best are meat based, like Solid Gold Lamb bits or something similar. Professional trainers use freeze dried liver. You can actually make your own if you're up to it and don't mind handling liver--buy slices of frozen liver, boil it in water heavily seasoned with garlic salt, and when it's cooked, put it in a 250 degree oven for about an hour to dry it out. Your dog will stand on it's head for it! When training, give only tiny bits--you're not feeding the dog, you're rewarding it with just enough of a taste that it will want more, and do whatever you ask to get it. Train your dog when hungry. Feed afterwards. Good luck with your training.
I would not give treats to such a young dog. He should be eating only a high-quality puppy food for the first year of his life.
Raw carrots and green beans are the treats of choice at our 4-chihuahua home.
raw hides. they are good for there teething needs and aren't too expense.
