Question:if your dog loves you?i know it sounds stupid but i'm just wondering

I knew my baby loved me the first time he saw me. He was in a cage at the local shelter. I pet him I let him out- we ran around and had fun. I had to put him back into the cage, bike back into town and get money to pay for him. He cried and cried to be put back in- and when I came back his eyes lit up and his little tail was just wagging. He loves me because I give him the attention he wanted so badly. He still loves me for that- he just also loves EVERYONE he meets- he is just very friendly.
It will want to be with you always, wag its lil tail whenever you come home with a little smile and sparkle in its eye.
Dogs will always love you if you treat them right and sadly some would even if they werent. All dogs thrive on human affection and in return will give the same back.

Dogs do not love, at least not in the sense that you think they do. Love is a human emotion. Dogs respect. You would know if they respect you when you issue a command and it gets carried out. You would know it when the dog does not challenge your authority as the alpha member of the pack. You would know it by the body language the dog displays in your presence. I hope I have helped.

I know that my dogs love me because of the look in their eyes when they gaze up at me as they fall asleep, the way they follow me everywhere, and cry and howl if they cant. They get unhappy if they cant lay down with me and howl if i leave the house without them.
They protect me from anything that could cause me harm, wether its another dog, a fox or a person.
They lick my face, clean my wounds and wont leave my side if i fall and hurt myself.
Everytime i see them they get excited and run to me.
Thats how i know my dogs love me.
A dog does not know what love is. What a dog shows you is loyalty. And it shows you that when it looks at you as the leader, the one in charge. You'll know when they follow you around every where you go and obey your verbal commands.
