Anyone know of a blue great dane breeder in NJ who wants to breed??

Question:I have a pure breed 1 1/2 yr old blue great dane and I want to stud him out. Fantastic temperment, extremely loving, well behaved, only thing is he likes to lay on our bed, he wont ly on the floor. ANyway, if anyone knows of anyone that I can breed my Merlin with , kindly email me. Thanks!!

Answers:
Your best bet to find breeders is to start showing him. If he does well in the ring and the breeders like what they see, they will come to you. Make sure he's been screened for hip dysplasia, cardiomyopathy, hypothyroidism, and has passed a CERF exam.

No breeder worth their salt would be interested in using an unknown, untested dog, even if he were free.

Uh oh...here come the fanatics with their "back yard breeder" remarks! Good luck finding a stud service.
Great I have one!

Since we don't have any homes for the puppies, you're only going to have to pay me $5,000.00 for me to use your dog.

Is that okay?
Answer #1 knows nothing about animals. She should just go on over to her little Sunday School/Mother to girls categories, I'm sure someone is interested in whatever it is she knows.

Answerer #2 is correct. Take your dog to a few shows, talk with breeders there.

Answerer #3 is just plain hillarious. Nice one! I'd like a puppy-will you pay me to take it? ;o)
I'll breed mine to yours! What a great idea! So I know he is breeding
quality, please answer the following questions:
Please fault your dog to me.
What is his pedigree, and have any relatives had a problem with Acral lick dermatitis, Afghan Hound Myelopathy, Autoimmune Lymphocytic Thyroiditis, Bloat, Calcinosis circumscripta, Canine Microphthalmia, Canine Muscular Dystrophy, Cardiomyopathy, Cataract, Cerebellar hypoplasia, Cervical disc disease, Cervical vertebral malformation or instability, Cherry Eye (Eversion of nictitating membrane), Color mutant alopecia, Cystinuria, Deafness, Degenerative Spondylolisthesis, Demodicosis, Dermoid cyst, Distichiasis, Ectropion, Entropion, Gastric Torsion, Glaucoma, Hemeralopia, Hereditary Canine Spinal Muscular Atrophy (HCSMA), Hip Dysplasia, Histiocytoma, Hygroma, Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD), Hypothyroidism, Metabolic Bone Disease, Mitral Valve Defect, Osteochondritis Dissecans, Osteochondrosis, Osteosarcoma, Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA), Progressive Ataxia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Retinal Dysplasia, Thyroiditis, or von Willebrands Disease ?

What are the results of his Cardiac Evaluation - OFA
CERF Screening (Canine Eye Research Foundation)
Hip Dysplasia (OFA or PennHIP)
Thyroid Function Test (blood test) ?

What are your dog's most outstanding virtues?
What titles does he have?

Do you see the problem here? If you can't answer these questions, you really
should not be breeding your dog. There are SO many poorly bred, sickly dogs
because a dog that looks ok on the outside, can carry ALL these problems on
the inside, and unless you study your dog's breed and gentics, you won't
know! You'll just think of all the cute, fluffy puppies, and when disaster
strikes, what will you do? How will you feel if you sell or give a puppy to
your best friend, and it dies from some preventable disease after costing
them thousands of dollars to try to save? Breeding isn't just slapping two
dogs together. It is a HUGE responsiblity for the rest of the puppies lives.
Can you please tell me which titles your dog holds?
