Question:I have an eleven week old shiba inu who has been really good as far as training goes this far. But she won't listen and is not taking to the come command, and still has issues on the leash. I'm looking for answers about this and any other info i can get about the over all inu experence.
Answers:
i do know that you have to be firm but not scare them when training and when you do the come command make sure they see it as a really good thing never tell them to come if ur punishing them ! with the leash just stick with it. this site will tell you any thing you might not know about this breed good luck!

They are adorable fox-looking dogs but they do like to be independent. They still want to be loved & require your affection like all dogs so don't give up hope: they can be trained. You must be consistent & you'll probably benefit greatly from an obedience training class at some of the PetSmart stores(usually held on Saturdays) or some other dog obedience training place (watch the class' costs & the teacher's knowledge though).
SHIBA'S ARE VERY DOMINANT DOGS. YOU MUST ESTABLISH THAT YOURE THE BOSS EARLY ON IN THE RELATIONSHIP, OR THEY'LL WALK ALL OVER YOU. YOU MUST ALSO SOCIALIZE THEM WITH OTHER DOGS AT AN EARLY AGE (4 MOS) BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT NATURALLY DOG SOCIAL AND MAY BECOME AGGRESSIVE IF NOT EXPOSED TO DOGS. GIVE THEM LOTS OF LOVE BECAUSE THEYRE CUTE AND SOFT!
