How do I convince my mom to let me get a Siberian Husky.?

Question:She says our backyard is too small for a big dog, but the adoption center said it was big enough. I told her this, but she still will not let me get a dog. Thanks For The Help

The probablility is that she is using the backyard as an exscuse because she doesn't want one. Your best bet is to be the perfect child. Take on responsiblities around the house ect, to show her how your responsible. Do nice things for her. If all else fails, sit her down and make a presentation on how cheap and easy it will be to look after and how you will do all the work, even if it isnt easy, cheap or your not gonna do any work.

how old are you? husky's are alot of work. they need constant exercise, grooming and they can be hard to control. they're working dogs so they get bored really easily. they must be stimulated everyday. mentally and physically. the need lots of room to run and play.
Ask the adoption place if you can take the dog for a trial period so your mom can see how things would work out.
Siberian Huskies are loyal family dogs. They protect the family without being aggressive. They do like to dig and due to their ancestry the males may tend to want to wander. so I would fix him. They are very loving and provide lots of exercise opportunity heh A dog can have any size yard as long as he gets the appropriate exercise to compensate, like a longer walk with play time or do some running.
try saying that youll do all the work and that you will pay for it and the food and things like that but you also have to remember that they can grow very big and heyneed alott!!! of exersize and you should get reserch about it first make sure its the perfact dog for you and your mum you can convince her with the facts that you now about the dog and say that she can name it if she wants
Listen to your mom, Husky's need room and plenty of places to go,,not a back yard..it won't work believe me...
siberean huskies need plenty of exercise as they get bored very easily they can reach up to 70 lbs and their coat needs constant grooming a siberean huskie may not be for you but I can't tell you which knd of dog to get
Owning a husky is much more than the size of your backyard. You must show your mom that you can provide the dog with proper care in all aspects of his life. How will you walk it? is you yad fenced in? Huskies can and do RUN...lol! How much time can you devote to brushing? Huskies shed ALOT! Mine get brushed at the least every two days. How often will you work on training with the dog?

Meko, my husky, is very social. He would wilt away if I shoved him into a back yard and left him alone. (NOT saying you will, just want you to be aware they need people)

Good luck!
Maybe your mom knows that huskies are very much a hand full. They are very attention-demanding, they are extremely high stressed, they required tons of exercise, they require tons of grooming, and are extremely vocal (and very loud). Maybe she knows that she will end up being the one taking care of the dog the most.
Do not judge a breed by his looks...research, research, research!
I am 16 and i have a siberian husky he is so sweet a siberian husky may not be right for a first time husky owner. My mom and dad breeds huskies they can be very stubborn yet really skiddish. Also when the get board they tend to dig and destroy stuff and they have a high prey dive. ALso some of them can not be trusted off leash i recently had my run away but we found him. they are also EXSCAPE artists we have a big huge dog run for the huskies and they take the bars and acutally pull them apart with the paws and they chew out so now we have a fence. WE have 10 huskies and 7 puppies although they are really friendly the are not the dog for a first time dog owner. try a lab they have lots of dog rescues OR malamutes they tend to have better tempermants. good luck on finding the right dog for you
Ask why she doesn't want one - and try to negotiate. Read up on dog obedience and show her that you know how to train this dog. If you have the money to pay the adoption fee, demonstrate that. Put together your most persuasive argument. If it doesn't work, wait 'til you don't live with your mom any more, then get your dog. :) It's what I had to do, and I love my girl.
