Is there anything to put on sofas and chairs to prevent dogs from urinating?

Question:

Hi marebear, that bubble wrap stuff is very effective in keeping most dogs off the furniture and even if it didn't put your dog off, then at least it's waterproof.

Electrical current
Train your dog and let it know it is not allowed on chairs or sofas; housetrain your dog so that it urinates outside. Dogs have to be trained, they wont learn by themselves what you want them to do. Take it to obedience classes if you cant do it yourself. And take no notice of anyone who says you have to shut it up in a crate - that is totally unnecessary and cruel. TRAIN!
No, once a dog has peed on an area you need to be sure to neutralize the scent - neutralize, not just clean, or they will think that's the place to do it.

Neutralize and potty train.
yes there is...

we use little spikey pads on our couch to keep the dogs off!
you can buy them online at www.drfostersmith.com.

there may also be citronella sprays that might discourage it... but my male likes to mark his territory... can't seem to break him of it... so i finally put a diaper on him..lol

good luck and god bless
There's a harmless spray called "No-Go". If that's not the right name for it, ask anyone in the pet store. -Shocking the animal is cruel-
i dont know, but you could put plastic over ur sofa and chairs
