14 year old Golden Ret. signs of aging/dying?

Question:We have a 14 year old Golden who in the last six months has been diagnosed by the vet with senility just a few weeks back. A week ago she went from having normal feces to this massive clump of diahreea. There was so much of it and it smelled so profuse that I threw up. She has been potty trained and goes out 4-6 times a day with my little yorkie, but today.she came into my bedroom smiling, all happy, wagging her tail. Than I smelled something and thought...time to take the boys out for a poop...than I walk into the living room and that same profuse huge pile was on the carpet. She had gone outside twice today which is more than the usual already and she never came to get me to go out. I know she's losing it because she was so damn happy...this isn't normal for her. No switch in senior diet,...is it possible these are signs of dying?

Answers:
NO it means that she needs to be watched more closely. she is forgetting.
14 years old is old for a Golden. Talk to your vet and see if they can recomend something to give her to help her with her accidents. If she is well other wise than she may have a few good years left in her.
I had a Golden who lived to be 16 1/2 years old. So she may just need to be helped a bit more by your vet and you.

The inside pooping is her age. When our Belgian was very old he would not realize that he was pooping or peeing and just make a mess. (he would also forget he was old and arthritic PLEASE becareful with that behavior! It looks cute but they can hurt their old bones) take her to the vet to get it checked but old tummys can get sensitive and old minds can get confused about what is good to eat and what isn't
Difficulty holding bowels is not necessarily a sign your dog is dying. It comes with the territory of a senior dog.
However, you should notify your veterinarian about her diarrhea. Diarrhea is dehydrating and can indicate a problem. Her problem may be able to be resolved with a change in diet and/or medicine.
Many older dogs have this trouble. It's age-related incontinence. Humans have this problem, sometimes, too. Some even have to wear adult diapers, like Depends, because of it.

Check with your vet, though. Diarrhea is never a sign of anything good.
No, they are signs that she is getting old. This is just what happens. I would go to the vet about the diarrhea though.
